Bi’ Star, whose real name is Shamila Rashid Ndwangila, is one of Tanzania’s most respected and recognizable actresses in the world of drama and film. Born on 25th December 1969, Bi’ Star has built a powerful career through dedication, talent, and a deep passion for storytelling.

She officially joined Kaole Sanaa Group in 1999, where her acting journey grew into a national success. Through this group, she became part of many major television productions that were broadcast on ITV, one of Tanzania’s leading television stations.

Some of the most popular ITV dramas she performed in include Fukuto, Radi, Dira, Zizimo, Sayari, Baragumu, Tetemo, and Tufani. These shows played a major role in shaping Tanzanian television drama and helped establish Bi’ Star as a household name.

Beyond ITV productions, Bi’ Star has also appeared in several other well-known drama series such as Nyavu, Single Mother, Kipusa na Jiwe, and Kombolela, where she continued to impress audiences with her strong and emotional performances.

Her acting career also extends into film. Bi’ Star has featured in a number of Tanzanian movies, including Omtima, Kigodoro, Mama wa Marehemu, Mwajuma Ndala Ndefu, Je, Umefunga Mlango, Wageni Wangu, Mikono Salama, Chaka la Chuki, Kaa la Moto, and Jike Dume. These films further proved her versatility and ability to bring different characters to life.

Outside the entertainment industry, Bi’ Star is also a hardworking entrepreneur. She is a farmer, specializing in the cultivation of rice, maize, and other commercial crops. In addition, she is a tailor, focusing on women’s clothing, and she also runs a soap-making business, producing her own handmade soaps.

Through her talent, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit, Bi’ Star remains an inspiring figure both on and off the screen. Her story reflects the strength, determination, and versatility of Tanzanian women in the arts and business world.
