Lamine Yamal’s Home Targeted by Masked Intruders After Spain’s World Cup Triumph
Spain and Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal reportedly had his home targeted by unknown intruders shortly after helping his national team secure a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
According to Spanish police, individuals attempted to break into the young forward’s residence located in Esplugues de Llobregat, a municipality near Barcelona. The incident happened only hours after Yamal played a key role in Spain’s victory over France in the World Cup semi-final.
Authorities from Catalonia’s regional police force revealed that two masked individuals climbed over the wall surrounding the property in an apparent attempt to gain access. However, they abandoned their efforts after being noticed by private security personnel protecting the home.
Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia reported that the property previously belonged to former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué and his former partner Shakira before becoming Yamal’s residence.
The attempted break-in occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning, shortly after Spain defeated France 2-0 in Arlington, Texas, booking their place in the World Cup final.
Despite the alarming incident, no injuries or major damage were reported, and authorities are continuing investigations to identify those responsible.
